Dra. Rita Nunes

Veterinary

She has loved animals for as long as she can remember, from dogs and cats, to birds, rodents, and even livestock species. It was a health problem with her first dog, aged 8, that led her to say for the first time that she “wanted to be a veterinarian”. Since then, the dream has followed.

In 2014, she concluded the Integrated Master's in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon, with a master's thesis focused on Parasitology of companion animals.

She completed a 6-month curricular internship in the area of Companion Animal Clinic, at the Veterinary Hospital of Baixo Alentejo, with some interim internships of shorter duration in other areas, such as Population Medicine and Livestock Species Clinic. After the internship, she joined the Vet Planet Group team in February 2015, at the time at the Barreiro clinic. In October 2015, she moved to the Benfica clinic, following this project from the beginning. She currently works as a veterinary doctor in charge at the Vet Planet clinic in Benfica. Her main areas of interest are Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.

Her pet is Tobias, who was born in July 2010, belonging to a litter of four kittens that were born in a backyard in the heart of Alentejo, children of stray cats. Taken in at two months, he has always been a little terrorist kitten with people, although he loves other animals.

He currently lives his days as the king of the sofa back at home. To seduce him, all you need is a sachet or can of wet food!
